   Safe trav­els to you and the fam­ily. And wel­come home when you get in.

   I’m chat­ting up your book to friends. I real­ize that Idaho is “the sticks” com­pared to a lot of the world, but was dis­ap­pointed that I could­n’t find it in shops locally. Perhaps your book peo­ple can spur that along with the larger retail­ers. Let me know if there is some­thing I can do locally.

   Guy, i got your book for xmas, a great book, the trou­ble was i read it too quickly, i could n’t put it down . Apart from the Floyd & Roxy stuff i was sur­prised by other great musi­cians you have worked with & i also realise i dont have the sta­mina to be in a rock band ! (musi­cal abil­ity aside)

   Just men­tioned you and the book to one of my techs when he was mak­ing bass jokes. And I actu­ally have my bass with me today, because one of my cowork­ers is going to show me how to fix the bloody thing once and for all. It also needs a good restring­ing, much like my strat and the acoustic.

    Welcome home Guy, and I trust that the Bali trip was relax­ing before get­ting stuck into the year that is 2008 !

    Just won­der­ing if you could shed some light on the ses­sions for the Jerry Burns album you did in 1992. I really like this album ( very Blue Nile(esque ), and was won­der­ing what hap­pened to her. I know she wrote the song ” This Love ” for Craig Armstrong’s first record, but since then has disp­peared off the radar.

    That was a good lis­ten, and really not bad for being late at night and jet­lagged, as you said. As for the ‘tech­ni­cal issues’, my sta­tion has a name for them, after the poor DJ who may not have invented ’em, but he sure pop­u­lar­ized ’em. We call them ‘Chris Waffle Moments’, and I think he got kinda mad at us one night when we were teas­ing him mer­ci­lessly about it dur­ing the mid­dle of his show.

    Still, ‘did­n’t he do well?’

    Thanks for the enter­tain­ment, as always. Looking for­ward to next week’s show.

    No prob­lem. Just love that record. Maybe you could add it to the ” discog­ra­phy ” that is pretty bloody impres­sive if you don’t mind me say­ing.

    Those Stephen Duffy albums still remain favourites of mine. I met Stephen in Melbourne last year as the R.W jug­ger­naut rolled through, and he was an absolute gent. I have a great DVD with you and S.D doing ” I Love You ” on TOTP with the Steinberger in full force. I’m try­ing to get one at the moment, but they are quite hard to find these days. In the 80’s every­one had one. They have a sound al of their own !

    Anyway.…The ” Geek Factor ” sign is flash­ing, so I’ll be off to col­lect my pun­ish­ment.

    Hey Dave (from Idaho),

    I hear you; I just moved to New Hampshire (near the Boston area) from Utah… hard to find stuff out there some­times. I gotta say though, I see Guy’s book all over the place when I visit the UK. I sus­pect once Guy seals a US deal it will be easy to find any­where. Ditto to what you said: if there’s any­thing we can do to help get the book and tour this side of the pond let us know!

    The Planet Rock gig sounds like a pretty sweet deal too.
