Guy 21 comments ag - December 1, 2006 7:42 PM Guy, I just read a great review of your show in the UK Independent. I hope to see it some day. It mentioned you were a chain-smoker. I hate to hear that. Please stop. Phoenix - December 1, 2006 10:12 PM OMG, a new post. 🙂 And please put the wine and nibbles down. They’re distracting you. You can send ‘em our way instead, haha. 🙂 the Phoenix. 🙂 Brian Slater - December 2, 2006 12:48 AM If you’re reading this.…get back to work on the book! Guy Pratt - December 2, 2006 1:50 PM I don’t chain smoke in my show, I light 2 over the course of it, to aid dramatic pause.…Honest.. xx Guy Chris - December 2, 2006 2:45 PM Well good luck with the book, be shour to add as much floyd in it as possible. Hope to get a to buy it as soon as possible. One question:When can we expect a Guy Pratt solo album? Guy Pratt - December 3, 2006 2:24 AM I’m a bass player. With the exception of Jaco Pastirius we make dreadful solo albums. Phoenix - December 3, 2006 5:19 AM But you’re great for rattling the mirrors in my ride. the Phoenix. Guy Pratt - December 4, 2006 1:06 AM Like it Phoenix.. ag - December 4, 2006 7:22 AM Hmmmmmm, Jack Bruce made a few, sorta kinda.…. Speaking of which, I have a great story about hanging out with Jack and walking off with his SG that Felix Pappalardi gave him. ( I was.….buzzed.…just a bit) Maybe someday (stateside) I can tell you about it over a brew. Phoenix - December 4, 2006 10:52 AM But if one is listening to a good thumpin’ bass in one’s ride, one should never use the foot on the gas pedal to tap along… particularly if Guy is doing One of These Days. 😀 Phoe. Chris - December 9, 2006 10:20 AM Ok Guy, no solo albums then, anyway I would like bass guitarists solo albums, my favorite instrument is the bass and I want to try to play bass&guitar(I can play something well on guitar, but not near good) and I would like to take on the bass. I watched a few videos from David’s 2006, well VOIOS we fans called them , cos they are not profesional shot, rather by some people in the audinece(whom the security guys didn’t found), you all had a great time on stage it seames, didn’t you? And I must say, you were exactley as the 1987–1989 Pink Floyd tour, well with shorter hair, but the same great playing. Keep it up. Chris(from Romania) Rob - December 9, 2006 4:18 PM Hello Guy, good to hera the books comming soon. bet its walmer in france then in the UK Pedro - December 9, 2006 7:16 PM Hi Guy, Great new site you have! Pedro Brian Slater - December 9, 2006 11:20 PM Guy, Any word on photos taken of us before the Oakland show last April? I want to get some copies to put up in my office. We had a great time having a pint with you and I’d like to always remember that memory with a photo. If you’ve heard from any of the other bloggers who were there that had cameras ready, I’d like to connect with them too. I can give an e-mail address if anyone knows more. Thanks. I hope the book writing is coming along or finished…I look forward to picking it up when released. Sebastian - December 10, 2006 6:57 AM For God, if you can do that Pink Floyd returns to join and that they come to my country, I will be eternally gratefully. I have used a translator to write this Pink Floyd is the Best Sebastian One of these days Im going to cut you into little pieces. Haris Varajic - December 10, 2006 9:41 PM @Sebastian: As we can hear at very start od One of these-live, Guy use Delay…and octaver for Sorrow. Enjoy. And stop telling me you’re going to cut me into tiny little pieces. geoff duffy dublin - December 12, 2006 12:38 AM Hi Guy, Just thought i’d pop across cyberspace from my new home at dg.com and say keep up the good work and if in dublin drop me a line and I’ll show you a good time in the great city. Rgds Geoff Duffy ( Dublin ) michael - February 3, 2007 6:29 AM hi guy. my name is mchael. i am a really big fan of the Floyd. my Question is to you, how do you play “one of these days” on the bass? i’ve been trying to play my favorite floyd tune for some time. i would like to know how it is played? what type of equipment you need? i have an amp with a delay feature on it, but the highest it will go to level 8. i’m wondering if i add on another delay unit, will it be a longer delay or does the unit cancell my amp delay and go directly to the unit which probably have a longer delay? i used to play bass in school (long time a go), but unfortuneately lost touch for a while. but already just getting back into it. i’m trying to teach myself, but having issues. i will be getting lessons soon. if you can reply back to me by e-mail that would be great. Woolebeesia - October 28, 2008 7:17 PM OK, let me repeat that… I like to flaunt my thorough tour A joke for you! How you get down from an elephant? You don’t, you get down from ducks.
